Marnee, thank you so much for sharing your expertise on this subject. I’ll bet most everyone has found themselves at a loss for words when talking with someone who is grieving. He’s not going to be traumatized at the vet’s office, but if BF is worried about it, he can have the vet come to his home to perform the euthanasia…it’s quite inexpensive. The dog is likely in pain, whether he shows it or not (cancer is not a kind disease). He should be seeing the vet, anyway, for some medications to make his last days more comfortable. If the BF doesn’t want to spend money on painkillers, the time to euthanize is now. Euthanasia is only around $25 (more if you choose cremation).
