I’ve tried to get rid of mice with those standard old-fashioned traps. I had to throw them all away, ‘cause it’s just so disgusting to clean them. I think I’ll try the poison next time.
I read this book a little over a year ago and really enjoyed it. The whole passive vs. active voice is something I really struggle with – as I have a hard time identifying what qualifies as being “passive voice”.

I don’t know Miami well, but I suspect that the “nice” apartments you describe are the type that would cost more like $ 4000/$ 5000 a month in Manhattan. If you are paying $ 2000/mo in the trendy parts of Manhattan, you’re probably talking about a 300 to 400-square-foot studio, in an old building (which can be charming but also brings risks of maintenance problems and rats/roaches), without air conditioning or a gym or new-ish kitchen appliances or any of the other amenities associated with a “nice” apartment complex down south.

Doubled your recipe, used a mix of oatmeal and whole wheat flour (didn’t have enough flour), shredded apples with the skins on (lazy), 1/2 the sugar (preference). They will be good for breakfast for our crew of six this week. I enjoyed this as a base recipe and will come back to experiment more.
